Motivating Monday: Success Is your Purpose; Being truly Authentic

This is a quick blog post for you today. I realize it's Friday and I'm posting a Monday message :-) but the message is more important than the title.

As I've been knee deep structuring my business, designing my programs and executing my services and upcoming events and book launch, I haven't been active blogging lately but I hope this message will carry you into the weekend and get you thinking about some of the reasons you procrastinate in your life and business or constantly find yourself at a constant state of "starting over". I had a call this week with a author speaker and in that conversation I shared that in our desire to be "true to self" we actually become someone we were never intended to be.

Be careful of who you become when on pursuit of what you want

What does this mean? We often think this means that we must not become arrogant or egoistical and ensure we keep it 'real" but truly what this means that we must not become an image of our story, whatever story we've become. We must continue to chisel away the "gunk" that was placed on us from our upbringing and circumstances. HONOR.YOUR.GIFT.

Are you AUTHENTIC to the world but FAKE to Your True self and your creator? Does being of SERVICE TO OTHERS mean being of SACRIFICE TO SELF? In your effort to contribute to the world, and show yourself as humble and authentic, ask yourself are you also sticking to an old script that is keeping you stuck on that old story of survivalism? 

Far too often, we use the Word of God against ourselves and use it as an excuse to do nothing to improve ourselves as to want more means in some way you lost connection to living a life of sacrifice to God. To desire wealth is not greed, it's a birthright, it's what you were created to do. It's the material manifestation of God's divine in creation. It's not greed unless you make it about you. Jim Rohn said it best "I am at my best to you when I am committed to personal self development" 

Never diminish your light and think you're doing anyone a favor...you're not, you're killing the dream God gave to you. and that my friend is NOT being authentic...it's being fake & phony, not to the world but to the creator of the world. Honor God by honoring your gifts...no questions asked.

Being successful is not a option or choice, it's your requirement as a man and woman of the Creator. It's your sole purpose in life. It's the ultimate calling we all have. Being authentic has nothing to do with what others think or even what you think about you, it's about faith and trusting.

Motivating Monday: "DO.It.Anyway" Fight the Perfectionist Bug

Last Monday (this blog was originally created for 4/9/12), I was knee deep in client calls, consultations and strategy sessions where I saw a consistent theme. I have some clients who get it right way and hit the ground running and other clients who get stuck. It's all good either way as I know we each have our own methods to reaching our goals, but it's the understanding of the importance of "doing" that this weeks Motivating Monday is all about.

We are always "doing". I read that we are all in a constant state of action. Even potential energy is a state of energy and energy is always in motion. With this knowledge it's imporant to learn to be fearless in our actions. No not to be careless that's not what I mean, but to fe fearless and courageous means to move even in the midst of uncertainty. To go ahead and finish that book, or decide that "good enough" will do, to keep the event going even if you only have 3 people registered (instead of 50 like you planned for). The beauty about action and energy is that it's always happening around us, even if we're not "doing" anything. Therefore, doing is a constant manner and in that constant either you are doing and moving forward or "doing" and moving backward. The choice is yours.

Perfectionist get obsessed with the "doing"; being as perfect as possible why? Who knows but I suspect for feelings of being inadequate, or just plan fear of failure or fear of what others will think or say. Here's the truth, whether you do it or not, yo are proving yourself right. 

Here's how to combat the urge to be perfection.

1. Realize that we are all on a journey, equally.

2. Failure breeds success; most highly successful people embrace failure and learn from mistakes

3. The best starting point is right where you are today. You aren't missing anything. Once you get started, you'll begin to discover what you didn't know to do and actually learn to do it. The point is to "do it".

Embrace where you are today. Your Liberation is in you letting go and sometimes, yes, going with the flow! You have all you need in you right now to become successful, the purpose for your actions should never be what others think about your work but how they are transformed by your actions. What areas of your life do you limit your progress by being so enthralled with perfectionism?

Motivating Monday: Speak.In.Action: 3 Quick things to Combat "Procrastination Sabotage"

SPEAK.IN.ACTION. Many of us have become good at "speaking a good game" that we've learned to con even ourselves. You know "I'm going to start exercising as soon as I get some new running shoes" or I'm going to start my new business as soon as.." Are you running game on yourself? I know I have to keep check to make sure I'm not. It's important to learn to speak in action and to hold yourself accountable. Instead of "I'm going to do..." declare, "I AM doing" Speak in the tense of ACTION and begin holding yourself accountable to your success.

Strategy Saturday: Too broke to afford to hire help? How your pricing is killing your business.

There was a time when I was searching for my home payment, and I never let anything keep me from surviving. I suspect if you're reading this, you are used to busting your hump to survive, to do whatever it takes to make it happen so you can keep on surviving. BUT when the opportunity to thrive comes your way you simply settle with "I'll just wait on it to happen" or "I'll visualize it" or "It just isn't my time" all of that is nonsense.
